JJ at Reproductive Jeans has created a tribute meme that bloggers can award to the person who inspired them into blogging.I owe the existence of this blog (and it's sister, Drama 2B Mama) to the Barren Bi+ches Book Tour. Last Spring, I read Waiting for Daisy and, like any self-respecting book geek, googled it to find out more. At the top of the search list was Stirrup Queens' Barren Bi+tches Book Brigade. Mel, the first blogger I ever "met" said, "all you need is a book and a blog." I was so excited about "talking" with others about this book, about not needing to actually go to anyone's house or clean my own, that I took the plunge and began blogging.
So, dear, sweet, beautiful Mel, you inspired me that day and you continue to inspire me every day. I am in awe of your creativity in writing, in filmmaking and songwriting, MS-Painting, bartending, in bagel-making, in Super-Hubbing, in helping and connecting, in rallying the troops, in your literary advice-giving (which is NOT assvice-ful), and now your international spokeswomanship. In your sensitivity and your sensibility.
The most fertile of people would be envious of your prolificness (it's a word -- I checked).
Thank you, Fairy Blogmother, for opening this world to me and for making it so textured and colorful.
